We are looking for a Senior Product Director for the largest automotive marketplace in Canada.

In this role, your focus will be on 3 key verticals

What you’ll do…

  • Have a direct team of 3 Directors, each one overseeing a specific marketplace related business area and having specific industry knowledge (Media, Data and Privacy).
  • Act as the point of escalation for all related matters and provide strong product management theory guidance/tutoring to these 3 vertical knowledge experts.

Media related:  

  • Oversee and help guide along the Director Media on the short, medium, and long-term strategy and deliverables related to our audience & national advertising products. Support and input into our ongoing data strategy management and owner of DMP partner relationship. Work with sales, media, engineering, and ad operations to prioritize the most significant opportunities for advertisers and TRADER across business units.
  • Help grow existing and create new revenue streams directly related to TRADER's national advertising portfolio, programmatic marketing, dealer website and data as a service (DaaS) product team to meet business objectives – including ownership of commercial data feeds
  • Help have clearly defined 36 month rolling product roadmaps based on customer needs and understanding of the addressable market
  • Accountable for product prioritization and output across national advertising and audience product development teams. Responsible for driving alignment of priorities at the executive and business owner level and be the link between LOB and technical priorities while balancing customer needs.

Data related:

  • Help the Director Data define and productize data partnerships and new data enriched way to go to market to our core products.
  • Lead expansion of audience portfolio and commercial data feeds.  Must be able to prioritize the most strategic options based on direct revenue and indirect revenue potential, in partnership with sales and finance leaders
  • Build trusting relationships with internal and external partners

Privacy related:

  • Help with stakeholder management into for the Director privacy subject matter expert to the organization and provide strategic and practical advice and/or guidance to internal stakeholders, including senior management, on privacy and data governance principles and requirements
  • Work closely with Legal counsel, Product, and Engineering to translate and integrate privacy requirements into product and development requirements
  • Drive organizational behavior change as it relates to the use of data; realizing vision of data managed as an asset
  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal control processes

 What you bring to the table…

  • Detail and results-oriented self-starter capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions. Must be able to bring forward new ideas/concepts that the business has not thought of
  • Excellent presentation and influence skills with the ability to align product vision and strategy with stakeholders and executives   
  • Understands how to balance long-term strategy alongside constant re-evaluation of the near-term client and product opportunities, commercially and for fit for purpose, cost benefit analysis
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Above average communication skills and ability to network and foster key relationships
  • Communicate effectively through written and verbal mediums at all levels of the organization

Must have experience…

  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Business or related discipline OR 12–15 years entrepreneurial experience in advertising technology, with P&L, financial modelling, and team leadership 
  • 7-10 years of product management experience within the online industry 
  • Experience in an Agile development methodology is a must, including Kanban, prioritization methodologies, reporting tools and processes 
  • Strong leader with the ability to recruit, develop, and grow teams, with a proven track record of managing and launching a range of innovative B2B & B2C Online products 
  • Experience managing sales account plans, including sourcing, closing, contracting & legal conflict resolution 
  • M&A experience highly desired 
  • In-depth ad tech and strategic experience working with DSPs/SSPs, DMPs, CDPs, identity verification, online video, content and data monetization 
  • Experience sourcing, nurturing, closing, and growing revenue producing partnerships 
  • Solutions-oriented – resolve end-user / customer problems  
  • Proven ability to sell at the executive level in direct support of sales teams
