Director, OEM Business Development

The Director, OEM Business Development is responsible for developing opportunities for revenue growth through partnerships and industry relationships from both new and existing product lines. Develop and grow relationships with industry partners and execute on commercial opportunities for growth.

Key Areas of Responsibility  

1. Vision/Strategy/Planning

  • Build a strategy for developing opportunities for commercial revenue generation through large OEM/Industry related partnerships.
  • Ensure the strategy is viable and can be successfully executed to achieve results.  
  • Champion business cases internally.
  • Continue to stay abreast of industry trends; mapping organizations within the digital media space; analyzing trends and changing approaches.
  • Looking both nationally and internationally to understand industry trends, customer trends, and competitor product positioning which will impact the portfolio.
  • Aligning TRADER assets to become increasingly competitive and best in class. 
  • Develop appropriate service models to assist and serve successful partnership ventures

2. Negotiation and Deal Implementation

  • Directly involved in the delivery and negotiation of deals and contracts with OEM and industry peer groups.
  • Identify opportunities which increase revenue, and align TRADER strategically in the industry.
  • Communicate the benefit of the deal structure.
  • Develop and articulate a deal that works to achieve success between parties; successfully closing the deal.
  • Work and communicate effectively cross functionally to ensure successful implementation.  

3. Partnership/Networking

  • Build trusted relationships with key external partners.  
  • Represent the company at networking functions and other industry-related events through speaking, networking, and other business building activities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the industry in order to generate insights, perspectives and strategic value.
  • Understand the competitive landscape intricately.

4. Data Analysis

  • Work with MI and BI to generate deep understanding of the consumer buying journey, the impact of TRADER products, and other OEM advertising.
  • Communicating effectively internally with respect to data and recommendations. 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master of Business Administration is an asset.
  • 6-8 years’ experience with a "best-in-class" organization in high performance sales, or marketing in industries such as; Automotive, The Advertising industry, etc as well as knowledge of marketing techniques.
  • Previous experience leading the development and execution of an online product.
  • Experience leading a high-performing cross-functional team.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess large corporate experience and is experienced in building robust partnerships through networking and consultative selling. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master of Business Administration is an asset.
