Senior Product Manager - DMP Audience

SUMMARY OF JOB

Responsible for realizing day-to-day management of the DMP and its implementation at Trader. He/she works together with the Data, Product and Marketing teams to identify key audiences, engagement strategies, measurements, and develop insights that will contribute to growth in data product sales and also acquisition and retention through our marketing channels. He/she will lead DMP implementation updates and expansions, audience optimization testing plans and roadmap, and contribute to the development of TRADER’s cross-functional audience and data roadmaps.  The key contribution of the role is to operationalize better connection and engagement between the data capabilities and the needs of the business across several channels – media, data product, B2C and B2B and to be the internal SME in this area.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Be the product owner of the DMP
  • Act as the DMP solutions architect and SME expert across the business
  • Realize DMP functionality and its value, use, and operation across the business
  • Strive to continuously improve the DMP and audience performance.  Actively attend training sessions with various vendors and inquire about data and platform capabilities.
  • Expand DMP use potential, by testing additional functionality and expanding third-party integrations
  • Help identify and create custom segments to be used by a range of teams – from product through to analytics
  • Leverage data to assess, diagnose and prescribe campaign optimizations to exceed client expectations.
  • Analyze performance of campaigns and share insights with the wider organization
  • Maintain taxonomy and classifying behaviors
  • Analysis of audience data to find new interesting segments – propose use cases not identified
  • Work together with other departments to share learnings and best practices
  • Work together with our media agencies, ensuring full adoption on their end
  • Key contributor for top and bottom line growth of the programmatic display and ROI (traffic, visitors, lead gen)
  • Manage daily/weekly/monthly reporting for overall campaign performance as well as one-off requests
  • With the VP of Data Products, partner with our media team as the key contact and continue to translate our overall strategy into execution tactics
  • Leverage channel data and be the knowledge point on industry developments to identify and execute tests, enhance reporting, and identify key levers and opportunities to implement optimization to improve performance
  • Analyze current processes continuously and seek opportunities to automate, where possible, to improve the efficiency or implementation

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • An interest in working with internal stakeholders and external agencies to establish efficient and scalable processes
  • Strong English language (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Good relationship building skills; an ability to create rapport

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior DMP experience is required; DSP experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of advertising technologies, targeting and data collection
  • An advanced knowledge of Web Analytics with proven experience of generating insight from business/web analytics data
  • Clear view on how media channels work together to create a cohesive, personalized marketing experience
  • A commercially minded individual - ability to understand the commercial imperatives behind the data needs
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in programmatic marketing and database software (SQL) is highly preferred
  • Experience in A/B testing is a plus
  • Brand enthusiast who understands AutoTrader.ca and our mission
  • Ability to effectively partner with 3rd party external agencies & other partners
