Director – Reporting Products

SUMMARY OF JOB

The Director of Reporting Products is responsible for the continued evolution of internally- and externally-facing reporting products that prove TRADER’s value to its dealer and manufacturer customers.  S/He will lead cross-functional Analytics, Data Science, Product and Sales teams to plan, build, and launch additions to TRADER’s measurement platform products,  and is a key contributor to retaining and growing existing customer base.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Owns roadmap, planning, execution, and commercialization of existing and new Insights Products including:

  • Internally-facing product value tools
  • Customer-facing reporting portal
  • Emerging insights tools for new markets and customers

 Participates in strategy sessions with executives and business owners to ensure reporting work meets business objectives

Uses strong leadership skills and relationship-building to develop credibility and influence indirectly owned workstreams

  • Acts as the business voice as analytical processes are defined

Translates analytical outputs into repeatable reports and platforms, easily understood by intended stakeholders

Leads internal and customer-facing trainings on new tools and reports

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Detailed and results-oriented 
  • Excellent presentation skills to explain reporting features and lead internal sales and external customer trainings
  • Able to network and develop key relationships
  • Communicate effectively through written and verbal mediums at all levels of the organization
  • Commercially-minded, comfortable working closely with sales teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solutions oriented – resolve customer problems
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Self-starter / self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary in Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • 5-7 years experience building analytical reporting or media measurement products
  • Proven track record of managing and launching a range of innovative B2B Online products
  • Experience making data accessible via BI reporting tools,
  • Power BI preferred
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools (ie Cognos, MDM, ETL) and concepts including designing, reporting and delivering analytical solutions; data management, data quality and warehousing
  • Experience working within Agile development methodology is required; Experience leading Agile teams highly desired
  • Experience with a wide range of analytical processes and approaches
  • Strong experience in data story-telling and training for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with supporting sales teams with trainings as well as with direct external customer-support
  • A broad understanding of the dynamics of online media and advertising is highly desired
  • Strong leader with ability to develop and grow teams
  • Knowledge of E-commerce platforms and technologies, highly desired
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster interpersonal relationships
